MAMM - Maximus Automatic Modem Monitor
Written Feb 91 - by Dan Thomson
Configuration File. One of these files
must be created for EACH Maximus Task.
All lines that do NOT have a letter in
the first position are assumed remarks
Port 1 This is the Com Port to use for
this task. Com1 = 1, Com2 = 2 etc.
All modem processing is done with
the use of a Fossil Driver...
Baud 2400 Your MAXIMUM baud rate. If your
Fossil is locked, use the locked
baud rate.
Init AT E0 M3 S7=60 S11=50 V1 Q0 X4 Your modem init string. See your
modem manual for correct settings.
Spaces are not needed, but the
settings are terminated when TWO
spaces OR a Tab, OR a carriage
return are detected. (Any ~,^,v
are sent to the modem verbatum,
so if your modem doesn't understand
them, don't use them...
Answer ATA This is the command that will tell
your modem to answer the phone.
You should NOT set your modem to
auto answer by hardware switch or
S0 settings. As above, the string
is terminated when TWO spaces, OR
a Tab, OR a carriage return are
detected.
Busy AT M0 H1 This is the string which takes your
modem "Off-Hook". It is sent when
MAMM exits for events or when you
enter Maximus in local mode.
The following line is sent after
a CONNECT message is received. It
gives users something to look at
while Maximus loads. (Although
Max does load pretty fast). At this
time, this string is sent in UPPER
case, regardless of how it looks
here.
Banner Maximus is coming! Hurry up and wait.
Task 1 This is the task number that is
passed to Maximus. You MUST
specify a task number! If you
want to use default names while
in Maximus, use Task 0.
Log Max.Log This is the log file that MAMM
will write to. Standard log entries
are used. This filename CAN be the
same as MaxLog below.
Level 5 This is the level of detail that
you wish your log to contain. There
is not much difference between the
different levels right now, but it
is subject to change.
MaxLog Max.Log This is the log file that you wish
Maximus to write to. (It is passed
to Max using the -L command line
options)
The file from here down is a list
of external events that you may or
may not wish to use. MAMM can run
up to 24 daily events. If any events
are missed because of off-line time,
MAMM will go back and run all of them
when it is brought back up. Read docs
for a COMPLETE description!
